How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes? Since I have began taking barre regularly I have definitely noticed the most change in my thighs and arms, they are becoming more defined! What’s great about Barre Centric is the focus they put on each part of the body. Not only does it target the parts of the body we all want to be longer and more lean, the instructors change the exercises each week to target other muscles connected to the arms, thighs, and seat. I also feel that it has improved my posture overall.
What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes?The best part of coming to Barre Centric classes is definitely the positive and upbeat atmosphere of both the instructors and the other people in class. With the everyday hustle and bustle of life, or just a stressful day in general its nice to have somewhere to look forward to going to. Even when I am feeling tired or lazy or I just plain don’t feel like working out, going to Barre puts me in a better mood and I am always happy that I did when I leave! I love to be able to have fun while working out, and getting a better body shape at the same time!
Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class? For anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class, I would say definitely to try it, you wont be disappointed! This is such a welcoming studio, they know your name even after just taking one class! Each class you take you learn more and more, and you improve as you go. The instructors are always so helpful, they even help adjust you to make sure you are getting the most out of each exercise. Trying something new is always a little nerve wrecking at first, but you always feel comfortable here! (I am not sure if you will be doing this again this summer, but, if you are you can also add this : Barre Centric also offers classes over the summer down at canalside (which was actually my first class 🙂 ) so that gives you an opportunity to see what they are all about, and you will be hooked!

How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes? Since I have started barre class, I have noticed I am becoming much more toned and I am a lot stronger than I was before. I have seen the biggest changes in my arms and legs. 🙂
What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes? It’s hard to pick one… I love how the instructors are always friendly, encouraging, and helpful. I also love the music and the change in the routine each week. Classes are always challenging and fun. 😉
Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class? Give it a try and I am sure you will love it!! I cancelled my gym membership because barre is more enjoyable and I am seeing better results. 🙂

Barre Star of month: Adrienne

How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes?
 I never used to see any results in weight training exercises but after doing barre I have seen a full body transformation.
 What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes?
From day one everyone has been so welcoming and nice. I used to do barre in NYC and never once connected with anyone. Barre Centric is such an inviting studio I immediately felt at home.
Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class?
It’s an awesome overall workout, and if you put in the work you will quickly see results!

How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes? 
My muscles have become so much stronger and sculpted since coming to barre! My thigh muscles are rock hard. For a women who has given birth to 7 children, I have abs and my “spare tire” has disappeared!!!

What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes? My favorite part about barre class is that at the end of 60 min I know I have “put the work in”. The routines are do-able and the variety of classes keeps it interesting. The instructors are so encouraging no matter what studio that you attend. I have met some very nice barre buddies too.

Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class? After every class you attend you are more flexible and stronger with an improved sense of balance. You will notice that, for example, you lift your leg  or do a crunch during a routine that the next time you can do it a little easier and lift your leg a little bit higher. There is no pressure to attend since the results are all the encouragement that you need to return . I found the key is to set a target of the number of days / week to attend and stick to it!

How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes? 
I have been doing Barre for a little over a month now, and I am already seeing changes in my body. I love barre because it truly targets every part of your body. I have noticed toning in my legs, arms and stomach. I can’t wait to see what happens after months of doing barre!
 What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes? 
My favorite part about coming to Barre Centric classes is the atmosphere and energy of all the classes. The teachers are so encouraging and helpful. I always leave barre feeling positive and already looking forward to the next class. The weekly change up of exercises keeps the class new, exciting, and challenging!
  Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class?
For anyone thinking about trying Barre Centric, I advise you to definitely go for it! I am so happy with the experience and results I have seen! I would recommend trying to go as often as possible and trying all the classes they offer.

 How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes? Definitely my body is limber. There is an overall sculpting of the body and that does not ever stop. I don’t feel I have plateaued as I have in the past with other forms of workout. The weekly change to the routine is tough at first, but super exciting over all. I do not feel too sore after the work out and it leaves me with more energy.

What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes? The instructors are super cool and have great energy. They correct your form and are very encouraging. Happy energy everywhere.

Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class? The more you do, the better you get. It becomes addicting after a while. But, try to stay regular and attend more classes than fewer.

How do you feel your body has changed from barre classes?
I started barre for two reasons. (1) I had a horrific knee injury that has limited the type of physical activity I can do. Barre was low impact but packed a big punch of working all of my muscles to keep me in shape. Barre has continued to build the strength in my injured leg and has made a difference. It’s helped me with my range of motion. Barre has been a great therapy for me. (2) I love how barre makes you lean and stay in great shape. I can definitely see the difference in the fit in my pants. Long and lean all the way!! It has really chiseled my arms and flattened my tummy.

What is your favorite part of coming to Barre Centric classes?
My favorite part of class is the “community” that we have at Barre Centric. Everyone is talkative and pleasant. It’s nice to know I can go into barre and feel comfortable working out. No judgements…only support. I also love the availability of class hours. I’m big on going first thing in the morning. It energizes me for the rest of the day.

Advice for anyone who is thinking about trying their first barre class?
Be open! This is a supportive community. It’s a practice and with a practice, you’ll constantly learn and strive to do better. One day you may be on and the other you may be tired and can’t plié as low as the day before. Keep your head high and keep pushing. Everyone is there to help:)

How do you feel your body has changed from Barre Centric classes?
I feel so much stronger and aware of my muscles. My entire body is more tone. It may sound funny, but I even feel a bit taller. I continually receive compliments about how much more sharply my legs have become.

What is your favorite part about coming to Barre Centric classes?
How good I feel. Even though the exercises are sometimes difficult, it feels so good to get better and better at completing the routine. Of course, just as it gets easier, you guys switch things up, which furthers the challenge.

Advice for anyone thinking about trying their first barre class?
Start now! I wish I started this years ago. It just feels so good and is worth every penny!

How do you feel your body has changed from Barre Centric classes?
I noticed a change almost instantly, especially in my legs. My whole body has become more toned and I definitely feel like I’ve lost inches. I’m super proud of my arm muscles because I’ve never had any before.

What is your favorite part about coming to Barre Centric classes?
I love the quick pace of each class. Just when you think you can’t possibly do one more pulse, they move onto the next move. It’s a total body workout and the instructors make you feel like you have your own personal trainer. And seeing the same friendly faces every week is an added bonus.

Advice for anyone thinking about trying their first barre class?
Just come! Don’t be intimidated, if you’ve never done Barre before. The instructors are so helpful and will answer any questions you may have. It’s so much fun! Soon you’ll be a Barre addict like the rest of us!
